Job Description: As a
CAD Technician
at Ragle Inc., you will be an integral part of the team, working in our office to produce detailed and accurate CAD models for heavy civil construction projects. Your work will support the development and execution of projects such as highways, bridges, and infrastructure, ensuring that plans and designs are translated into reliable, real-world applications. You will collaborate closely with engineers, project managers, and other team members to ensure project specifications and timelines are met while maintaining the highest standards of quality and precision. Key Responsibilities: Recreate and Customize CAD Models:
Transform stamped engineering plans into detailed and accurate CAD models. Ensure these models align with the original design and meet the specific needs of each construction project, customizing them to incorporate all construction phases and requirements. Project-Specific Modeling:
Develop CAD models tailored to each project’s unique scope, including detailed groundworks, grading, and infrastructure elements, providing a clear framework for the entire construction process from start to finish. Construction Phasing and Planning:
Integrate phased construction timelines into CAD models, representing the step-by-step progression of the project, and ensuring that all stages are clearly communicated and documented. Collaboration and Coordination:
Work alongside project managers, engineers, surveyors, and other internal teams to verify that the CAD models meet all project requirements. Assist with preparing exhibits for management, including as-builts, RFIs, and other project documentation. Collaborate with estimating teams by providing necessary take-offs and supporting project bids. Ongoing Model Maintenance:
Regularly review, update, and maintain the accuracy of CAD models throughout the construction phase, ensuring all changes, updates, and field conditions are reflected accurately. Preferred Experience: Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, and Bluebeam Revu Previous experience working on heavy civil projects, particularly in highway and bridge construction Familiarity with construction workflows, project lifecycles, and the needs of various construction teams Qualifications: Degree or diploma in a relevant field such as Civil Engineering, Architectural Technology, or Construction Management Proficiency in CAD software, specifically with Civil 3D and related tools Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure the accuracy of project plans and models Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment Organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
