My Client is looking for a Proposal Writer, contract to hire role. $80K++
The Proposal Writer responds to customer Requests for Proposals to win new business and retain existing contracts.The position requires proposal-related research, collaboration across departments, content development, and production activities.In addition, this position prepares other sales and marketing-related written materials as directed, often completing work under tight time frames.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
- Review and understand submission requirements and instructions to develop compliant proposal responses and ensure on-time proposal submission.
- Develop the proposal template and development schedule.
- Draft the content of proposals for both new and existing commercial and government clients using well written, persuasive language. Content will include but is not limited to, resumes, key personnel bios and work plans. In addition, this role includes development of content for other marketing materials.
Minimum Education and/or Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree plus at least 3 years related experience; or at least 5 years related experience.
- APMP Foundation Certification desired
- At least 2 years of Experience in proposal writing, business development, marketing, corporate communication and/or bid/RFP response development is highly desired.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Exceptional business writing abilities
- Ability to communicate ideas and concepts both orally and in written format.
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret complex requirements and processes and assist in writing technical persuasive documents.
- Strong research and interviewing skills.
- Strong Microsoft skills including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat
- Basic knowledge of MS Visio
- Knowledge of competitive bid process including the government proposal solicitation process is highly desired
- Travel is required at 5% of the time.
