Job Description


Position Summary

The Video Production Intern will join Ravinia’s Creative Services department to help implement the organization’s vision through compelling video content. Reporting directly to the Associate Creative Director of Media Production, this individual will provide comprehensive support for video production, including filming, audio recording, editing, and post-production.

Interns will gain hands-on experience with professional cameras, stabilization equipment, and lighting techniques to capture the Ravinia experience. They will also work collaboratively with other interns and team members during the editing and production process, building a comprehensive understanding of professional video production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce video content to support branding, sales, marketing, and promotions.

  • Assist with setting up lighting, cameras, and sound for sit-down interviews.

  • Edit raw digital video footage into polished, finished content using Adobe Premiere Pro.

  • Help with asset management by uploading, organizing, and tagging photos and videos in Ravinia’s Digital Asset Management (DAM) system.

  • Collaborate with Ravinia’s social media team on content creation.

  • Work with other interns to conceptualize and execute personal projects to strengthen the Ravinia brand.

  • Capture b-roll footage and conduct interviews at Ravinia events to create feature stories throughout the season.

  • Assist in capturing footage and photos for Ravinia’s mission-based programs Reach Teach Play and the Steans Music Institute.

  • Provide support for Ravinia’s photography needs, including concert and event photography.

  • Assist with setting up and lighting formal interview sets.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Associate Creative Director of Video & Photography.

Qualifications
  • Demonstrated knowledge of professional camera and audio equipment with minimal supervision.

  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro.

  • Familiarity with Photoshop, Canva, After Effects, and Bridge is a plus.

  • Experience with mirrorless cameras and Ronin stabilizers is preferred.

  • Outgoing and enthusiastic personality, comfortable approaching the public.

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, and some holidays.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

  • Positive attitude, high energy, and a dedication to teamwork.




Work Environment

April 2025 – September 2025: Dates can be agreed upon based on academic calendars).

We are looking for this position to be about 30-40 hours per week, on-site position based at Ravinia Festival in Highland Park, Illinois. The role operates in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays during Ravinia’s concert season. While most work is performed in an office or studio setting, the position also involves outdoor event coverage and occasional physical demands, such as setting up video and audio equipment. Limited travel may be required for specific projects or training opportunities.




Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: $16.75 an hour
