We have ambitious goals to scale growth and adoption of the service around the world and delight our customers with a great memories product. We are seeking a Sr. Design Program Manager with strong organizational skills, great drive, and best-in-class ownership to join our growing Amazon Photos Design team. As part of the team, you will work collaboratively with designers, engineers, product management, and other program managers leading projects throughout the planning, design, and development lifecycle. As a Sr. Design Program Manager, your emphasis will be on planning and prioritization of design deliverables, schedule tracking, mitigating project risks, and collaborating with design leads to deliver innovative solutions across work streams. Key job responsibilities: Partner closely with designers, leads, and managers to advocate for user-centered design. Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints. Put repeatable processes in place that help us plan and manage multiple parallel projects and run our business. Create and manage team backlogs, communicate status, and coordinate reviews with stakeholders and senior management. Work across teams to create strong relationships with stakeholders and senior leadership teams. Work proactively to clarify requirements and use cases, actively seeking clarification when there is ambiguity. Seek opportunities to make improvements to team efficiency and process. You will collaborate with design leads to deliver innovative solutions across work streams by partnering with design, research, and product teams to plan and deliver projects bringing new ideas and experiences to our customers. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Have an available online portfolio. 7+ years of design program management experience. 5+ years of design experience. 3+ years of experience leading project delivery for large, cross-functional project teams. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of project management tools and methodologies (agile to waterfall). Experience contributing to project playbooks, building schedules, managing issues/risks, establishing communication plans and stakeholder management. Background working in a collaborative multi-disciplinary UX team. Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills. Understanding of UX design and software development. Ability to identify and mitigate risk on projects. Experience with Agile/Scrum. Experience building/delivering consumer electronic products.
