The Graphic Designer will work with the Director of MARCOM and the Creative Team as a creative talent in designing and implementing a wide variety of multimedia and print marketing deliverables that effectively merchandise our innovative brand of medical/rescue products and training initiatives.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIESThis is not an all-inclusive list of duties and responsibilities. Projects/duties may be modified/changed/added/deleted as needed.

  • Creative collaboration with the Director of MARCOM and MARCOM team for the implementation of NARs branding strategies and any print/digital advertising/marketing collateral such as product catalogs, supplements, flyers/brochures, tradeshow materials, etc., and involves the role of lead design and/or creative consultation in the development, layout, copywriting, delivery, production and frequent updates of these central piecesboth in print and online.
  • Work closely with the Product Development/Management team to help facilitate creative problem-solving and marketing strategies for both new and existing products. Typical activities would include reviewing competitive intelligence, information mining on the products justification and competitive advantages, crafting a message that is informative, concise, and visually stimulating, and developing product-specific logos for general packaging and brand recognition.
  • Design and update advertisements for our national magazine advertising campaigns. Translate marketing objectives into creative strategies by contributing input into the development and messaging of ad placement in industry-specific publications.
  • Work closely with the Director of MARCOM and the creative team to ensure the consistent communication of the NAR brand with clarity and visual excellence.
  • The ability to be organized, self-motivated, and proactive while multi-tasking within tight timelines
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of MARCOM.

AUTHORITY

  • As delegated by the Director of MARCOM, you will have authority to manage creative projects, assets, and contacts, from concept to completion, taking lead design roles as determined by the Director of MARCOM.
  • Requisition products from inventory on behalf of the MARCOM department for use in photoshoots and videos
  • Purchase items for MARCOM as approved by the Director of MARCOM

ACCOUNTABILITY

  • Ensure the consistent, overall communication of the NAR brand, both internally and on the market, with clarity and visual excellence.
  • Track progress and mark completion of quarterly and annual objectives.
  • Ensure that product files are complete and current.
  • Design, update and manage the materials for national magazine advertising campaigns.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of professional graphic design experience in design such as print or pre-press.
  • A Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Design or equivalent experience as demonstrated with a strong creative portfolio.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing solid concept/execution skills; an accessible digital portfolio, online or pdf is preferred
  • Strong sense of design with keen, proactive attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of developing trends as they relate to printed and online applications both from the design and technological perspectives.
  • Ability to keep up with the latest design and editing software enhancements and incorporate them into your day-to-day workflow.
  • Ability to maintain flexibility when handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience with video editing and production utilizing Final Cut Pro and Motion preferred.
  • Expertise in varying design applications, particularly the current Adobe Creative Suite:
  • InDesign
  • Photoshop
  • Illustrator
  • Acrobat
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite specifically PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Proficiency in the MAC Environment

  • Must have good customer service and a helpful attitude.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to view a computer screen for extended periods, to hear and talk. The employee is frequently required to sit for an extended time, utilize hands for keyboard usage, and occasionally to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, and lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
