The Role and What You'll Do:

As a Design Lead, you have a keen understanding of the specific design demands of traditional, experiential and digital media; you will create the innovative and memorable cross-channel work that continues to make our agency, and the brands we work for, stand out and be talked about in the industry and around the proverbial water cooler. You get excited by not just making great work but by making great work that actually works. You inspire that great work in all that work under you. You lead by example in the creation of breakthrough design that help clients make their dent in culture and get our agency talked about.

This position requires a passionate and talented Design Director who will lead daily design across a wide variety of creative. You obsess over kerning, are fascinated by color theory, likely have a favorite font, and geek out over composition. You are also a design athlete, and have created campaigns across a variety of platforms including identity design, social, digital, print, OOH and more (motion design a plus) throughout your career.

You're the kind of person who gets excited and inspired by making things. You lead with fearless creativity, but are also not afraid to roll up your sleeves to get work done. You absorb design from everywhere, sharing current design best in class examples and trends to inspire those on your team. You have master level technical knowledge of the newest platforms and programs, helping grow and better the team to deliver quality work in a time-crunch. You have a knack for storytelling and presenting design in a way that makes people fall in love. You multitask running several projects at time, tackling pitches and building business from within. Additionally, you're collaborative, organized, and accountable, giving proper attention to the detail of your craft as well as bringing your teammates along in the process. You set the example for all others to follow. You inspire those under you to step up and bring their very best designs forward each and every time.   • Self-starter who goes above and beyond, and consistently seeks new ways to elevate the agency's creative product
  • Proactively take a lead of the design of outstanding creative, working collaboratively within a cross-disciplinary team and environment (Art Directors, Creative Directors, Assoc. Design Directors, etc.)
  • Able to establish design team process and deliver concise and clear feedback to design team in one on one and group team formats
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Ensure consistency and efficacy of design throughout all creative
  • Collaborate closely with Project Managers/Creative Directors to build client presentations
  • Collaborate closely with Design and Creative team by reviewing work to ensure expectations are being met and adherence to brand guidelines
  • Expert level of understanding of fundamental disciplines and design principles such as color, composition, typography, and attention to detail
  • Drive awareness of industry and visual design trends (fashion, tech) and industry competitors, sharing with peers and the broader community and leveraging them within the design lifecycle
  • Receptive to design feedback and adaptability in creative/design development process
  • Excellent interpersonal communications (written and verbal) and design problem-solving skills
  • Excellent time management and presentation skills
  • Ability to lead multiple projects and tight timelines but also remain extremely detail-oriented
  • Successfully advocate for design concepts by confidently presenting to leadership, stakeholders and clients
  • Monitor high standards and work collaboratively on new methods and procedures as needed
  • Ensure and develop best practice principles in conjunction with wider team
  • Consistently communicate with project owners regarding project status and challenges
  • Provide technical input and advice on projects as required to achieve high quality
  • Adaptable and ability to learn quickly
  • Offer input and share design solutions when applicable at creative meetings
  • Manage design request workflow by prioritizing projects
You Have These:
  • 10+ years of experience within an ad agency or similar setting
  • 2+ years experience design team management experience
  • Degree in graphic design or similar field
  • Digital design portfolio of drool-worthy creative
  • The optimism to think bigger, the curiosity to dig deeper, and the passion to do better
  • The ability to adapt to new ideas, processes, and business problems with ease and enthusiasm
  • A professional attitude and an openness to receiving and giving feedback that commands the respect of colleagues and clients
  • Expert level of proficiency in InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Creative Suite, Powerpoint and Google Slides
  • Knowledge of AI tools, motion and CGI a plus
  • Self-driven, eager to learn and goal-oriented
  • Superior sense of type, layout and image composition
  • Expert knowledge of design trends and best practices
  • Multi-disciplinary craft and cross-platform abilities including design, photography, film, animation and mixed media communication and storytelling
  • High level of accountability, motivation and strong time/project management skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and proactively guide junior design talent in a fast-paced environment while being calm under pressure
  • A desire to understand the advertising industry at large; an ability and a desire to adapt to the changing landscape of technology
  • Strong work ethic, adaptable to ever-changing hours and demands, with ability to re-focus and develop options for quick changes in projects
  • Outstanding organizational and archiving skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills- able to navigate and collaborate effectively with teams

Per local requirements and in the interest of transparency, the range shown below reflects the prevalent current hiring range for this position. Hiring pay rates are based on a number of factors, including location and may vary depending on job-related qualifications, knowledge, skills and experience. Endeavor strives to provide locally competitive rewards packages, which include base rate along with, as applicable, short- and long-term incentives, growth and developmental opportunities, and robust benefits, such as health care, retirement, vacation and other paid time off, and additional offerings.

Hiring Range Minimum:
$142,500 annually

Hiring Range Maximum:
$190,000 annually
