Marketing Manager

Job Summary

Reporting to the Senior Director of Marketing and Communications for the David Eccles School of Business, the Marketing Manager will develop marketing and communications strategies and execute tactics for the school and selected departments and programs to increase awareness, elevate reputation, lead generation, and student engagement. The role requires strategic thinking to develop comprehensive marketing and communications plans, performing various writing, design, and project management tasks while using good judgment and strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  1. Serves as a direct line of contact between the Branding, Marketing, and Communications (BMC) team and department and program leaders.
  2. Develops marketing and communications strategies.
  3. Designs, coordinates, and executes a wide range of marketing and communications tactics.
  4. Writes content and copy for marketing and communications channels including website, advertising, email, newsletters, social media, presentations, and internal communications.
  5. Maintains robust relationships and ensures client satisfaction.
  6. Develops and communicates department information and accomplishments on various projects to stakeholders, both internal and external.
  7. Responsible for monitoring the effectiveness of marketing and communication tactics, adjusting plans as necessary, and reporting on performance against set KPIs.
  8. Collaborates with faculty members to promote research to the public.
  9. Leads and edits the monthly internal newsletter, curating and writing content.
  10. Coordinates paid advertising with external agencies.
  11. Develops and adheres to project timelines.
  12. Manages budgets for each department and program.
  13. May perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience). Four to six years of progressively more responsible management experience. Background knowledge of hiring department's area of specialization to analyze, plan, and draw conclusions for recommendations to superiors. Demonstrated leadership skills in planning and directing employees and processes to effectively monitor and develop subordinates and ensure the smooth operation of the department. A Master's degree in a related area may be preferred.

  • Agency or in-house marketing experience.
