Job Summary:
The Director of Marketing serves as a key expert to the BGCSM team in effectively promoting our mission, programs, and initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a creative and visionary leader with a strong background in marketing, communications, and brand management within the nonprofit sector. In this fast-paced and dynamic organization, the successful candidate will be a self-starter capable of working with minimal supervision. Duties and job descriptions will shift and change with the organization's evolving needs, making adaptability and proactive problem-solving essential qualities for success in this role.
Responsibilities:
Marketing Strategy: Lead the development and execution of comprehensive marketing strategies to raise awareness of our organization, increase engagement with stakeholders, and drive support for BGCSM?s mission and programs.
Brand Management: Manage and enhance BGCSM?s brand identity, ensuring consistency across all communication channels and materials.
Digital Marketing and social media: Oversee digital marketing initiatives including website management, email marketing, social media strategy, and online advertising campaigns.
Public Relations and Media Relations: Develop and maintain relationships with media outlets, pitch stories to the press, and serve as the organization?s spokesperson when needed. Handle all media inquiries and interview requests. Organize and manage TV appearances.
Content Creation: Lead the creation of compelling and impactful content, including blog posts, articles, press releases, marketing collateral, videos, and other multimedia materials.
Event Marketing: Collaborate with Resource Development team members to develop marketing plans for BGCSM events.
Analytics and Reporting: Monitor and analyze marketing metrics and KPIs to assess the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and inform future strategies.
Team Leadership and Development: Manage and mentor a team of marketing and communications professionals, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
Qualifications:
Bachelor?s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or related field (master?s degree preferred).
Minimum of 7 years of experience in marketing and communications roles, with at least 2 years of experience in a leadership or management position.
Proven track record of success in developing and executing strategic marketing and communications plans for nonprofit organizations.
Strong understanding of digital marketing tools and platforms, including social media and email marketing.
A successful track record of effectively communicating with senior level executives, board members & key community stakeholders.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages for diverse audiences.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with media contacts, donors, volunteers, and other stakeholders.
Creative thinker with the ability to generate innovative ideas and solutions.

Salary range: $70-$95K
