Job Title: Elementary School Music Teacher (Long-Term Substitute)

Department: Education

FLSA Status: Part-Time, Non-Exempt

Reports to: Washington Yu Ying Principals

Dates: January - March

Compensation: $25/Hour

Position Overview: Yu Ying is looking for a passionate and experienced Music Teacher to inspire and guide our students. Specials Teachers at Washington Yu Ying are part of a collaborative and supportive faculty with a common goal of continuously improving a great school. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in creating and enriching an inquiry-based classroom environment that nurtures curiosity and academic excellence. Essential Responsibilities:

  • Implement Elementary (Grades PreK-5) Music Arts curriculum in collaboration with other subject areas being taught.
  • Ability to plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies
  • Work in a trusted and positive manner within a team environment
  • Establish a positive classroom culture
  • Emphasize and support oral language development across all content areas
  • Communicate effectively to families and work collaboratively with them as partners
  • Work positively and collaboratively as a member of a grade team

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required. Bachelor's or Master's degree in education preferred.
  • One year of experience as a lead classroom Teacher preferred

Terms of Employment: About 6 - 8 Weeks

  • Working Environment: In-school. The role is based on-site and will grow to include another campus, which will result in interaction with students, parents and staff.
