What will I Do?
You will work in an excellent new ballpark, with a great team, creating lasting memories for our guests and fans.
You will be responsible for representing the Salt Lake Bees organization and will oversee the public relation efforts of the organization.
The position will:
Protect the moral, legal, and financial assets and wellbeing of the company. Serve as the primary public relations, media relations, community relations for the Salt Lake Bees. Actively pitch stories to local and national media. Prepare and execute media events (press conferences, media day, etc.) Create game day materials for all 150 Bees games (game notes, lineups, roster, etc.) Supply content for team website and social media channels Coordinate all player transactions with the Angels to be announced properly. Monitor press box before, during and following games Supply interns to assist in Comms/PR business functions Assist print, radio, and television media at The Ballpark at America First Square with interview requests Work with Bees General Manager and help prepare for local media needs and serve as team spokesperson when needed Cultivate and pitch stories to local media Collaborative with internal staff to plan and execute community initiatives at the ballpark and outreach in the community Work with the Marketing department to support and execute marketing plans Oversee and help develop team social and digital media strategy Support the building of a diverse culture that enriches the lives of our employees, customers, partners and communities Embrace a culture of inclusion where guests and team members feel welcomed, valued and heard. 4-year degree in communications, sports management or equivalent field experience 3-5 years in sports management (previous experience working with college or professional sports team) Background in baseball operations and event management Strong management skills Strong written and oral communication skills. Highly organized and self-motivated. Solid knowledge of the game of baseball including statistics and terminology. Ability to multi-task and work in pressure situations. Punctual, detail-oriented and professional attitude that works well with others. Ability to work at Bees home games and off-site events, often on nights, weekends and holidays. Must be able to pass a pre-employment background and drug screening. Must be able to communicate in English. This person must be able to communicate and express themselves both written and verbally. This person must be able to observe, inspect, estimate and assess. This person must be able to sit, stand, bend, walk, and climb stairs for long periods of time. This person must be able to lift 20 lbs.
