Job Summary: Assists the Costumer in all aspects of the following as needed.
Essential Job Functions:
- Design and research costume design for period accuracy
- Plan all costume elements to align with director's vision.
- Coordinate with hair and makeup directors
- Maintain accurate accounts of spending according to budget
- Oversee and organize costume construction and volunteer seamstress assistance
- Arrange rentals when necessary
- Work with cast schedules to accomplish all fittings
- Assist with the coordination of technical aspects of the show that are affected by costumes, example: quick changes.
- Inform cast of all necessary information including proper undergarments, footwear (in collaboration with choreographer), tights, etc.
- Provide training or education to cast on how to wear costumes, accessories and any other articles of clothing or undergarments
- Organize elements of costumes in garment bags
- Attend rehearsals requiring costume fittings
- Supervise secure storage of all costumes or most valuable elements of costumes
- Attend evening rehearsals that include costuming
- Prepare and maintain adequate costume mending supplies kit for backstage
- Check all actors for quality control before stage appearance
- Attend set strike and oversee costume breakdown
- Make arrangements for cleaning of all costumes that require cleaning: wash cotton and polyester
- Make arrangements for dry cleaning
- Return costumes and organize costume storage
- Must qualify to work in the proximity of children under the conditions of a WSP/FBI background check.
- Applicant is Responsible for the cost of fingerprints.
