Other Conditions:
Fall, Spring and Summer Sessions. Part-time Lecturer applicant pool. Non-tenure, pending availability of funds and actual staffing requirements. Evening, weekend, television, distance education (i.e. Lanai and Molokai) and off-campus (various high school campuses) may be assigned as part of regular workload.
Beginning Spring 2025

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Teach assigned courses in the discipline qualified for.
  2. Maintain a minimum of one office hour per week for each course taught.
  3. Prepare course syllabi, grading, and reports related to teaching and student progress.
  4. Work under the supervision of the Discipline Coordinator/Division Chairperson in integrating teaching efforts with other instructors in the discipline area.
  5. May include instructional assignments involving distance education.
  6. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
All minimum qualifications must be from an accredited institution and met by the effective date of appointment. If qualified applicants are not available, those not meeting the minimum qualifications may be considered on an exception basis.

  • Master’s Degree in Communication

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse student populations.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to use writing assignments and integrate teaching of appropriate thinking skills into course content as an integral part of students' classroom learning activities.
