Dewberry is currently seeking an experienced Marketing Manager to oversee strategy and proposal management efforts to support our North Carolina operations with a primary focus on the water and site/civil market. The ideal candidate can be in our Raleigh office, but we are open to considering candidates in our Charlotte, NC, office. North Carolina is a strategic area of growth for Dewberry, and in this role, the marketing manager will be empowered to continue growing a robust marketing team in our Raleigh and Charlotte offices with the support of our marketing team throughout the Southeast. This position requires a marketing background in the architecture, engineering and/or construction (A/E/C) industry or related management consulting business. The Marketing Manager will lead marketing operations, strategy efforts, and supervise proposal marketing staff, with a focus on professional development and leadership.
Our Southeast Marketing Team supports local offices, strategic pursuits, and collaborates with other marketers to develop strategy and submit winning proposals to our clients. Our team’s mission is to build office collaboration, leverage team members’ key skillsets, and drive strategy for our regions. This position would be backed by a team of experienced marketers who successfully collaborate, promote individual strengths, and support each other's professional growth. This individual will manage and delegate multiple assignments with overlapping schedules, ensuring timely and successful execution. While experience in strategic pursuits, design-build, heavy construction, or integrated delivery is a plus, it is not mandatory. Willingness to travel between Raleigh and Charlotte is essential.
Responsibilities
- Supervise a team of marketing proposal staff to proactively manage workload, foster professional development, and meet proposal demands.
- Work in tandem with Business Unit Managers, Market Segment Leaders, Client Managers, and subject matter experts to determine forward action decisions, pursuit win strategies, assemble pursuit teams, manage the proposal process, and develop proposal responses for priority pursuits.
- Manage multiple proposal efforts and teams simultaneously within diverse markets and service offerings.
- Manage, develop, and maintain capture plans for critical pursuits.
- Manage, develop, and maintain client action plans for high priority clients.
- Support Business Development and operational personnel in market research, competitor analysis, and client intelligence.
- Possess the sales acumen to represent the firm appropriately with teaming partners and subcontractors, at events and business networking opportunities.
- Comply with our corporate standards to present a consistent appearance/style for presentation graphics, proposals, resumes, and collateral materials.
- Write supporting proposal content including project descriptions, resumes, service group overviews, and executive summaries, etc.
Required Skills & Required Experience
- 8+ years’ experience personally producing proposals and managing proposal efforts. Staff supervisory/leadership experience is preferred.
- Strong project management and organizational experience, including delegation skills.
- Effective proposal management skills, including planning, organization, problem identification and resolution, and resource management skills.
- Must have extensive MS Word, PowerPoint and Adobe InDesign experience. Other graphics software and CRM database experience is also desired.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and prior experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and working collaboratively.
- Must be available to work overtime as necessary in order to meet business requirements.
- Must be willing to travel between Raleigh and Charlotte, periodically.
