General Information:

The Breeze is hiring its 2024-25 Breeze TV Studio Director. The student selected for this position will help lead a broadcast news show that airs live. Position begins April 1, with training during the weeks immediately after spring break. Must be able to be back to campus two weeks prior to the beginning of the fall semester.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. In charge of all production staff and coordination of staff during the newscast.
  2. Trains the production crew throughout the week, so they are prepared for live productions.
  3. Coordinates who on the production crew works each position on a weekly basis.
  4. Works with the production crew to ensure they are aware of their individual responsibilities.
  5. Coordinates with the Executive Producer on the show’s vision and execution.

Qualifications:

  1. Knowledge of what a newscast should look like.
  2. Knowledge of all studio positions.
  3. Ability to lead a team.
  4. Ability to work through stressful situations.
  5. Knowledge of the week's show content.
  6. Ability to adapt on a moment's notice.
  7. Ability to edit video and familiarity with relevant software.
  8. Understanding of journalistic ethics.
  9. Ability to guide and teach new members.

Conditions of Employment:

Students must be degree-seeking, enrolled on at least a half-time basis (6 credits for undergraduate and 5 credits for graduate) with a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA.
