What We Need
The User Experience Research (UXR) group at 2K (embedded at Gearbox) employs an array of methodologies to give developers the feedback and tools to make better games. We are looking for a temporary User Experience Research (UXR) Assistant to help conduct and moderate playtests in our Frisco, TX research lab. This role involves working closely with research participants and other members of the UXR team. Primary responsibilities include moderating playtests, observing participant behavior, helping to conduct player interviews and group discussions, and analyzing survey feedback and other qualitative data. We are anticipating this assignment to last approximately 6 months.

What You Will Do
- Work with UX Researchers to help conduct and moderate PC and console playtests
- Communicate instructions and provide assistance to participants
- Observe and take notes regarding participant behavior via live and recorded video
- Assist with player interviews and group discussions
- Analyze and summarize player survey and verbal feedback and other qualitative playtest data
- Contribute to research reports
- Become familiar with mechanics and features of in-development game titles
What Will Make You A Great Fit
- Passion for video games and gaming required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience using Microsoft Excel/Powerpoint/Word or Google Sheets/Slides/Docs
- Ability to summarize, analyze, and communicate large amounts of written feedback and qualitative data
- Ability to work on multiple projects and/or objectives simultaneously
Bonus Points
- BA/BS in Cognitive Science, Experimental/Cognitive Psychology, or related field
- Experience with survey (e.g. Qualtrics, Survey Monkey) and qualitative analysis tools
- UX or other social science research experience
- Proficiency with PC hardware and current-generation game consoles
- Experience using game streaming software
