Instructional Design Specialist Contract Duration: Until 02/17/2026 with a high possibility of extension Location: Remote (with occasional in-person requirements for Michigan-based candidates) Job Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and creative Instructional Design Specialist with 1-2 years of experience to design and develop dynamic learning experiences. This position will primarily be remote; however, candidates must be based in Michigan to attend in-person meetings, “go-and-see” visits, and video shoots, as required. Role Responsibilities: The Instructional Design Specialist will be responsible for creating engaging and effective learning materials in various formats, including video, interactive eLearning modules, large-scale training programs, and blended instructor-led presentations. Key responsibilities include: Defining clear learning objectives, restructuring content, and designing engaging activities to support both face-to-face and online learning environments. Collaborating with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) from various business units to ensure that all content aligns with industry best practices, while adhering to regulatory and legal requirements. Designing and developing multimedia-rich training solutions with a focus on maximizing learner engagement and retention. Creating storyboards, planning production schedules, coordinating activities, conducting research, and maintaining overall production timelines. Producing high-quality video content for training purposes, with proficiency in editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Required Qualifications: 1-2 years of experience in Instructional Design, eLearning development, video production, or a related field. Proficiency in developing interactive asynchronous eLearning experiences, as well as synchronous, scenario-based in-person training sessions. Strong ability to simplify complex, multi-step processes into clear, actionable, and digestible training content. Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, adapting to shifting business priorities and meeting deadlines. Experience with eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline (preferred), Adobe Captivate, and other related software. Expertise in the Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint and Excel. A strong portfolio demonstrating attention to detail, adherence to adult learning principles, and the effective use of design principles with visually appealing layouts. Preferred Skills: Experience in video production and post-production editing for training purposes.
