Description

The Graphics Designer is responsible for applying art, design, and copy layout skills to create custom graphic packages for fire and rescue apparatus. It also includes creating custom logos for specialty components and marketing needs. This is accomplished by collaborating with sales/contracts as well as other departments to fully achieve end user expectations. The graphics designer is responsible for maintaining a consistent production schedule ensuring artwork schedule aligns with installation/production demand.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Sales, Contracts, and end user to understand customer expectations.
• Prepares drafts of design work and provides samples to appropriate staff or departments to approve.
• Revises projects as necessary based on collaborative feedback process.
• Prepares print orders and assists with printing and or layout as needed.
• Participate in cross functional training initiatives within graphics department.
• Consults with Management, graphics team lead and/or other team members as needed on complex or specialized projects.
• Maintains records of past projects using applicable software.
• Assist with material tracking and consumption as needed.
• Other related duties assigned as necessary.

Qualifications

• The ability to work at the factory and at home as a possible balanced workweek option.
• Must be capable of learning our product to better understand application and end user expectations.
• Capable of physically assisting graphics team with installation as needed.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Advanced proficiency with Adobe illustrator, Photoshop and/or other applicable software.
• Organized with attention to detail.
• Strong capability to work efficiently and independently to maintain high quality in a high-volume department.
• Self-motivated approach with the ability to take initiative but works well in a group environment.
• Strong time management, organizational, and prioritization skills. Must have the ability to balance multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.

Education and/or Experience

• 3+ years of related work experience highly preferred.
• Experience in high quality graphics design required.
• Vehicle/Apparatus related graphics design experience highly preferred
• High School Diplomaor Equivalent
