Job Summary

Program Overview:
Our high school theatre program is seeking talented individuals to fill the roles of Master Carpenter, Scenic Designer, and Scenic Painter for our upcoming musical and spring play. These positions are part-time and are structured around the production needs of each show. The program runs after school, beginning around 4:00 PM, and offers flexibility in scheduling based on show timelines.

Responsibilities:
-Work closely with the Director to develop scenic designs that complement the
production's artistic vision and story.
-Provide detailed working drawings, sketches, and 3D models of set pieces for
construction and painting.
-Collaborate with the Master Carpenter and Scenic Painter to bring the designs to life
within budget and timeline constraints.
-Oversee the setup and strike of scenic elements, ensuring all are installed and removed
efficiently and safely.
-Attend rehearsals to ensure that the set functions as intended and make adjustments as
needed.
-Mentor students interested in scenic design, guiding them through the creative and technical process.

Requirements / Qualifications

-Proficiency in scenic design, with experience in theatre production.
-Ability to create detailed technical drawings and collaborate with production staff.
-Strong organizational skills, creativity, and ability to work independently.
-Previous high school or educational theatre experience is highly desirable.
