Purpose of this Role
The Marketing Coordinator is an entry-level position that plays a vital role in United Way’s marketing and communications efforts, with a focus on engaging donors, raising awareness, and driving support for the organization’s mission. This role is ideal for a motivated individual with a marketing background seeking to grow their skills in a collaborative and mission-driven nonprofit environment.
Key Accountabilities
Core Responsibilities:
- Understand brand standards and work with stakeholders to ensure standards are upheld across all communication mediums.
- Embolden UWCW’s social media presence by designing, building and tracking social media campaigns related to the organization’s progress and updates.
- Champion inclusive and culturally responsive marketing practices that resonate with diverse communities.
- Draft and edit content for collateral and branded materials, including emails, newsletters, advertisements, website content, press releases, and social media content.
- Lead on design, layout, and printing for key initiatives while ensuring adherence to brand standards.
- Support the development and delivery of high-impact marketing campaigns across print and digital platforms.
- Support the maintenance of website content, ensuring information is accurate and engaging.
- Prepare and analyze regular reports on email marketing performance, social media engagement, and website traffic to optimize campaigns.
- Design, build, and track email marketing campaigns using platforms like Salesforce Marketing Cloud Account Engagement.
- Manage the marketing campaign calendar and maintain organized project workflows.
- Collaborate with the Community Impact team to align messaging with organizational goals.
- Assist internal teams with creating presentations and collateral for internal and external meetings.
- Support resource development campaigns by creating donor-centric content and materials.
- Actively contribute to planning and executing marketing strategies for United Way events.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with sometimes competing priorities.
- Must be able to meet specific deadlines and make appropriate adjustments to changing circumstances as necessary.
- Possess a strong work ethic and be flexible in your approach to change.
Supervisory Direction Received:
- This position reports to the Director of Marketing and Communications
- United Way staff, local, regional partners, community and nonprofit organizations, and community members.
- No direct supports
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proficiency in design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite), CMS platforms (e.g., Drupal, Wordpress), and email marketing platforms (e.g., Salesforce Marketing Cloud Account Engagement).
- Basic understanding of social media management and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite).
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Passion for advancing United Way of the Columbia-Willamette's mission and engaging the community.
