Job Description:

The Louisiana State University School of Music invites applications for part-time employment as a Musical Instrument Repair Technician, with appointment to begin in January 2025.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide support for all musical instrument maintenance, repair, and inventory in the School of Music and Department of Bands
  • Maintain instrument repair shop including an extensive inventory of tools and equipment and a storefront for accessory purchase.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Certification from a respected instrument repair trade school or documentation of apprenticeship with master technician or commensurate experience in instrument repair
  • Years of experience: 4
  • Specific experience: Skill in inventory management and record keeping


Preferred qualifications:
  • Specific experience: Ability to organize and work with a limited number of student workers; evidence of customer service dispositions.
