The ideal candidate is an ambitious and start-up-minded, self-motivated, and results-driven multitasker with a deep understanding of the media landscape and a strong ability to identify premium return-on-investment (ROI) opportunities that develop internal and external relationships.
The Senior Media and PR Specialist assists with developing strategic media relations and public relations campaigns for Addison Group and its subsidiary brands.
Core Responsibilities:
Identify and present potential media and public relations opportunities for Addison Group and its subsidiary brands to the Media and PR Manager for review and approval.
Perform consistent outreach to key media outlets and journalists in mainstream and trade publications, broadcast, and online media outlets.
Create clear and concise briefs and synopsis email communications.
Assist management with writing press releases, and coordinating press conferences, media events, and subject matter expert interviews.
Maintain media relations inbox, and coordinate/delegate follow-up communications.
Monitor media coverage and placement, and provide analyzed results.
Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices.
Write and publish contributor articles to applicable trade publications.
Identify internal executive-level blog and LinkedIn influencers. *Ghostwriting, as needed.
Project Management
Work directly with project managers and executive leadership to determine the scope of work.
Organizing and maintaining the project documents, updating the digital database, helping to manage the project's timeline, and setting up phone calls, meetings, and interviews.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field
More than 1 year experience at a national advertising, marketing, or creative agency.
More than 1 year concentrated in media relations and public relations.
Familiarity with the liability law, or legal responsibility that individuals and organizations face for their actions or inactions.
Strong writing and editing skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team whether in-office or remote.
Knowledge of the media landscape and industry trends
Experience with media monitoring and analysis tools
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Proficient in Mac and PC basic software applications.

More than 1 year of Adobe Design Suite, emphasizing InDesign and Illustrator.
