Job Title : CAD Designer - Product Definition (Steam Turbine & Generator) Years of Experience : 1+ Year Work Schedule : 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM Location : Schenectady, NY

Job Overview : We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented CAD Designer to join our client's Product Definition team in the Steam Turbine & Generator department within the organization. This role will be instrumental in supporting the creation, revision, and maintenance of technical drawings, Bill of Materials (BOM), and 3D models for manufacturing and production purposes.

Key Responsibilities : Create, modify, and maintain technical drawings, 3D models, and Bill of Materials (BOM) to support the design and production of steam turbines and generators. Work closely with engineering and design teams to ensure accuracy and alignment of drawings with product specifications and manufacturing requirements. Revise and update existing drawings and models as needed based on engineering changes, design updates, or production requirements. Ensure that all product definition documents adhere to industry standards, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and dimensioning concepts. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve design and production issues, ensuring smooth workflow and accurate documentation. Perform quality checks on all deliverables to ensure that all technical documents are error-free and aligned with project specifications.

Technical Requirements : Proficient in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar). Knowledge and experience with the Product Definition process, including the creation of drawings, models, and Bills of Materials (BOM). Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and industry-standard dimensioning concepts. Ability to interpret engineering drawings and design specifications to produce accurate technical documents.

Educational Requirements : Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Technology, Drafting, or a related field. Relevant certifications or additional training in CAD design or mechanical drafting is a plus.
