The Senior Multimedia Technician provides technical support for the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of multimedia solutions. This advanced-level role involves moderate to high complexity tasks, working under general supervision with occasional autonomy. While this position has no direct reports, the technician may lead the work of junior staff.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent specialized training, certification, or work experience. Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience. Knowledge and Skills: Excellent customer service skills. Intermediate technical troubleshooting abilities. Proficient in diagnosing advanced video-related connection and performance issues. Strong understanding of AV infrastructure and field implementation, including the relationship between audio, video, telecommunications technology components, and software. Knowledge of OBS for live event streaming and production. Familiarity with webcams, cameras, streaming software, and platforms. Ability to troubleshoot and manage all technical equipment for live broadcast and streaming, including lighting, audio, and cameras. Responsibilities: Manage and resolve support tickets from the ticketing system, ensuring high-level client support and service. Address routine issues using established procedures, escalating to the proper source when necessary. Troubleshoot basic AV, videoconferencing, and audio-conferencing issues of moderate complexity. Collaborate with vendors and IT groups to resolve technical issues. Assist with the installation, setup, monitoring, testing, and maintenance of conferencing technologies (video, audio, network components, AV systems, and custom solutions). Schedule and communicate with clients for videoconferencing calls and AV conferencing. Support recording functions, multimedia distribution, and scheduling. Assist in developing audio, video, and data conferencing solutions, using technologies such as televisions, monitors, user interfaces, microphones, cameras, codecs, AV processing equipment, and AMX control systems. Setup/install cameras, audio mixers, and AV mixers for streaming services. Operate in-room cameras for live streaming events. Provide support for complex meetings, including mic’ing speakers, managing camera angles, muting mics, and assisting with streaming. Consult with clients to determine technical requirements for complex programs and assist with setup and in-room production. Develop knowledge of new and existing technologies for event production. Provide consulting and training on the effective use of AV equipment, including creating related training materials and reports. Track equipment failures and issues, logging them in an issue tracker, and schedule maintenance calls with AV suppliers. Coordinate periodic preventative maintenance activities and implement backup solutions when needed. Provide consultations with clients to determine technical requirements for complex programs, assist with setup, and support in-room production.
