Bridgewater is looking for a GIS CAD Editor/GIS Technician to provide GIS software and application services to include data maintenance, software enhancements, operational software development, display updates, systems integration, project coordination, training, Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) document and other process improvements/automation.
Responsibilities Perform enterprise data maintenance, analysis, entry, and conversion; perform data research, investigation, and verification of electric transmission utilities and right of way / easements. Create, maintain, and update accurate digital maps, drawings, plans, spreadsheets, data files, and documentation for a variety of uses with field and business teams. Gather information from various sources, including legal descriptions, GPS survey data, document descriptions, and others. Assist with ad hoc work management research activities for GIS data maintenance workflow task assignments. Maintain work trackers and work management systems with progress updates. AdHoc GIS data acceptance and map quality control duties
Required Experience: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Geography or related field w/ GIS course work 3+ years GIS Technician experience performing utility data maintenance duties Experienced with Electric Distribution editing and maintenance. Electric Transmission experience 3+ years of experience with ESRI GIS Experienced with work orders and manually extracting information from them for GIS edits Need to be able to read engineering/technical drawings/diagrams. ArcFM pipeline utility experience Ability to interpret engineering pipeline utility as-built drawings and right of way / easement legal land descriptions Principles and practices of cartography and engineering drafting including map projections and scales.
Highly Preferred Experience: Experience with Schneider ArcFM Experience upgrading or enhancing current software to increase effectiveness between GIS and all enterprise integrations including SCADA systems, field devices and enterprise applications such as OMS, MDS, PI, Gas SCADA, EMS, ADMS, or SAP/Oracle ERP system.
