Join the Ralsey Group Ltd., the leading knitwear innovators with a focus on sustainability and creativity. We are looking for a creative Senior Sweater Designer to become a key player in our global organization. This is your chance to shape trendsetting designs with impact and co-create product with major US brands in the Junior & Contemporary knitwear market. This exciting and fast-paced opportunity of this knitwear design centric position from concept to full-development process to product gives you the possibility to truly excel in the world of knitwear.
Strategy & Innovation Analysis of the global emerging trends via runway, social media and current events; execute trends in concept direction, stitch, pattern, and yarn, Able to identify customers benchmark brands / inspirational brands and honing in on key developments Research and Development for seasonal yarns via yarn shows, Ralsey HKO, and own development with the mills, partnering with the Director and SVP Design. Development and executions of yarn knitdowns. Execute the customized seasonal sweater collection, with the knitting knowledge to cost-engineer, and the tech knowledge to work with our CAD team on 3D options and colorways. Operations & Results
Design according to style plans, sales needs, and emerging trends. Able to create protos via complete capability of yarn, gauge, machine understanding as well as able to create a tech package with full detail. Ensure the timely execution of the product development calendar. Create Illustrator sketches, review specification sheets and line sheets, and ensure the accuracy of product development logs, line sheets, boards, and design archives. Select and review raw materials and trims while maintaining yarn, various gauge stitch libraries, fabric, and trim libraries. Customers & Relationships
Build strong partnership with internal company: NYO designers, tech design, CAD designers, sales execs as well as our Asia offices including Merch, PD, CAD and our HK Design team. Build strong relationships with external customers via clear, constant communications. Collaborate with Sales Exec, Director and SVP Design to design, present and follow up customers. Skills
8+ years of experience in sweater design. team player Creative with a strong sense of design with the ability to innovate Excellent yarn knowledge Full understanding of gauges, stitches Excellent at creating tech packs and full capability to fit a sweater; all categories. Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.). Ability to multi-task Ability to lead a small team, including interns and an associate/assistant. Strong project management skills and the ability to manage the entire design process for multiple projects. Excellent communication and presentation skills for handling internal and external clients. Decision-making, prioritization, and organizational skills. Compensation/Benefits:
The approximate annual base salary range for this position is $95,000.00 - $115,000.00. The offered salary or salary range for this position will vary based on role requirements, skill set and years of experience.
