The Grant Writer is an integral part of the National Health Foundation team and manages federal and non-federal grants for the organization. The Grants Administrator is responsible for management of grants, including pre-award oversight, coordination, budgeting, grant development, and submission of the grant application, and post-award grant management and reporting. The Grants Administrator also ensures compliance with requirements of funding sources.The Grant Writer will support our robust grants fundraising program and report to the Vice President of Development. They will be responsible for managing strategies for program growth and funder stewardship, as well as preparing and submitting grant proposals, grant reports, and conducting grant prospect research.Pertinent InformationThis position is not remote. Full-time, exempt employee. Work Shift: Monday - Friday, 9AM-5PM Salary range for the position is $65K - $75K Responsibilities and InitiativesTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Relationship Development & Management: Co-host funder meetings, virtual and in-person, with senior development and agency staff. Establish and maintain current information, contacts, and relationships with foundation and corporate representatives and program officers. Coordinate stewardship activities in partnership with the CEO, Vice President of Strategic Partnerships and Director of Development. Track key funder stewardship/cultivation next steps as well as grant program administrative tasks in project management software. II. Grant Writing: Work directly with the VP of Strategic Partnerships and Director of Development to write, prepare, and submit corporate, foundation, and government grant proposals for both unrestricted operating revenue and restricted programs, meeting deadlines for a robust grant schedule. Submit timely and accurate grant reporting (progress/interim reports, year-end, financial reporting, program data, and special reports as required). Manage internal grants calendar. Prepare grant program budgets in collaboration with the VP of Strategic Partnerships, program and finance staff. III. Grant Research, Administration, & Internal Processes: Coordinate, with Community Initiatives internal data and finance teams, to secure the needed data points and financial information for proposals, reports and grant tracking. Collaborate with Community Initiatives Department communications team to ensure appropriate recognition of funders. Stay abreast of agency and program developments. Maintain a working knowledge of agency priorities and funding needs. Conduct prospect and funder research for new grant opportunities to inform grant strategy. Develop written profiles of funders to prepare program/development staff and leadership for grants-related meetings. Coordinate with the Director of Development to ensure proper and timely acknowledgment and reporting of all grant funding. RequirementsWhat you will need to succeed Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution 3+ years' professional experience, preferably in a non-profit setting Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and oral communication skills Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple tasks, work under deadlines, and work independently as well as collaboratively Exceptional ability to take initiative, exercise sound judgment, and work with senior staff Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of Products What we prefer but not required Experience with grant writing, program development, or government grant writing particularly knowledge of funding sources for marginalized communities and social determinants of health Knowledge of homelessness issues BenefitsProgramsNational Health Foundation is addressing the social determinants of health using several research-proven strategies.
