JOB GOAL: The District Grant Writer is responsible for seeking new funding opportunities through the development of proposals and grant applications which support the vision, mission, and strategic plan of the Garfield Public Schools District. The position will locate appropriate grants for ongoing, current, or future projects and present this information to the appropriate administration. This includes, but is not limited to, researching; identifying; developing; recommending; monitoring; and responding to public and private grant opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in business, public administration, or another related field.
- Previous grant writing/coordinating experience in a school district, preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Basic knowledge of statistics.
- Must possess the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and interpret budget information, provide budgetary projections, and prepare accurate reports.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to follow oral and written direction of a technical nature.
- Possess the ability to work independently under minimal guidance.
- Possess effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators and staff.
- Work year twelve (12) months.
- Salary, benefits, leave time, and conditions pursuant to individualized independent contract.
- Conditions established by laws and codes of the State, and policies, rules, and regulations established by the Board of Education (N.J.S.A. 18A:27-4 et seq.).
