The Digital Marketing Intern will directly support the Corporate Communications team in amplifying the MGE brand with engaging visual communications, including ads and other marketing collateral.

The ideal candidate will have experience with graphic design principles and be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in digital marketing or graphic design, with a focus on visual communications.

WORK SCHEDULE

  • Interns will work full-time (40 hours/week) during the summer months, starting mid-May through early September on a hybrid basis with some remote capabilities
  • Upon successful completion of summer term, additional availability to work part-time (15-20 hours/week) during the fall and spring semesters will be available based on business needs


DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Designing and formatting on-brand digital ads, print ads and other materials that promote MGE programs and services
  • Assist with web content updates and content design
  • Create efficiencies with internal MGE media libraries, including organizing and maintaining media files
  • Assist with MGE PowerPoint templates and presentations to ensure alignment with brand and design guidelines
  • Collaborate with MGE's videographer to refresh MGE's YouTube channel to improve user engagement
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school degree or equivalent; must be enrolled in an accredited university or college program, preferred area of studies include graphic design, digital marketing, visual communication or related field
  • Strong understanding of graphic design principles and brand identity.
  • Ability to proofread and fact-check content.
  • Strong project management skills, including organizing, meeting deadlines, and managing multiple priorities at one time.
  • Comfort with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  • Familiarity with digital content management systems (CMS), (e.g., WordPress, Kentico, etc.)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas
  • Strong business acumen, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Must be able to work effectively in a team environment

The position is hybrid, and office days are in downtown Madison, Wisconsin, where MGE is an active participant in community efforts to preserve the area's extraordinary quality of life.
