WE ARE // Pure Salt Interiors is a full-service interior design studio and e-commerce shoppe based in Newport Beach, CA. We create inspired spaces, products, and experiences that encourage people to live deeply in each moment through fresh, functional, family-friendly design. We first opened our doors in 2016, but have since evolved into a national lifestyle brand.


PURPOSE // The Design Coordinator role is an entry-level position for someone who is passionate about interior design. This position acts as the right hand to the Project Managers and Lead Designers and works closely with the Founders/Principal Designers. The primary focus for this Design Coordinator will be on product purchasing and procurement, and support all active Design Projects in Phases Two and Three. This position will assist and support the design team with all the tasks necessary to achieve the goals of the team.


OUTLINE // The Design Coordinator role is a full-time, non-exempt position. This position’s primary location will be Pure Salt Design Studio (Newport Beach, CA), and will report directly to a Lead Designer. The compensation range for this position is $19-23/hour.


DUTIES + RESPONSIBILITIES //

  • Administrative Tasks // Follows company policy and procedure, submits time off requests within notice requirements, maintains accurate timekeeping records, communicates regularly with management and follows up through appropriate channels, keeps an organized workspace, and represents the Pure Salt brand each day.
  • Purchasing + Procurement // Will support purchasing and procurement requests for design projects, enter and manage order tracking in ERP system, and manage/support month-end reconciliation for purchasing purposes.
  • Data Entry // Completes all data entry with incredible accuracy and team dependability.
  • Vendor quotes // Coordinates and obtains accurate vendor quotes.
  • Proposals // Assists with all proposal drafts through proposal software.
  • Support // Assists Lead and Associate Designers with all assigned design projects, including all listed under the designer’s responsibilities.
  • Design Tech // Demonstrates eagerness to grow and be mentored when opportunities to use Sketchup and AutoCAD surface.
  • Creativity // Provides a fresh perspective, challenges design choices professionally, and shows constant curiosity to learn and grow.
  • Training and knowledge are shared as opportunities arise.
  • Other duties as assigned, and subject to change with business needs.

REQUIRED SKILLS //

  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Must have the ability to multitask.

  • Able to effectively use common office equipment.
  • Creative and critical thinker.
  • Some experience with Sketchup and AutoCAD (course-learned skills okay).
  • Knowledge of GSuite Software Products, Houzz Pro, etc.
  • Open to feedback, and the ability to apply notes for improvement.


EDUCATION + EXPERIENCE //


  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree, preferred
  • Interior Design certification - or in progress, preferred
  • 2+ years experience in a Customer Service or Client-facing position, and in a comparable industry or product base.
  • 1+ year in a data-entry focused role, preferred
