Title: Reporter/Digital Producer

Reports to: Director of Broadcasting/Digital Content
Background: Sporting Club Jacksonville, or "Sporting JAX" is the club founded in 2020
by a local Jacksonville ownership group and named in collaboration with the First Coast
community in 2023. The club's goal is to operate a men's professional USL Championship club, a women's
professional USL Super League club and a USL Youth Academy through work with city
and county authorities to develop a 15,000-capacity community stadium and training
facilities to host the clubs in Northeast Florida.
Sporting JAX will kick off with it's women's team in the USL Super League in Fall 2025 and will follow with the men's team in the USL Championship. The club will also field USL League 2 and W-League teams and recently combined with Florida Elite, the state's largest youth soccer academy, to create one of the largest youth to pro soccer organizations in the United States.
The club is a community-oriented organization focused on providing opportunities for
youth development, fostering competition, and delivering exceptional professional
soccer experiences.
The club's stadium and facilities will reach out beyond soccer to other sports and other
sporting communities. Sporting JAX exists in part to advance soccer and an equal
playing field in our community as well as provide a "sporting chance" for the
underserved and marginalized.
Position Overview: Connecting with current and future fans is paramount at Sporting
JAX. Through our broadcast and digital programs, we seek to create a community of
soccer fans, sports fans and fans of our region. The Reporter/Digital Producer will
work with the Director of Broadcasting/Digital Content as well as other broadcast
vendors to create compelling, authentic content that promotes the men's and women's
teams, staff, coaches and players and furthers the bond between supporters and the
club.
Essential Duties:
- Report from the sidelines on during match broadcasts
- Produce content for weekly TV show, weekly radio show, digital assets including social
media posts
-Shoot video content during media availabilities and training sessions
-Edit other programing including condensed match broadcasts
-Co-host podcasts and other content as needed
-Write weekly article for SportingJax.com
-Assist marketing department with broadcast or digital related projects
- Other duties and special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
-Required experience includes on-air, production, editing, video shooting.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills; must be self-motivated, creative, and
detail oriented. Ability to organize and oversee multiple priorities and projects
simultaneously under deadline
- Strong interpersonal communication skills; able to present a positive and professional
image of the organization
- Able to work individually and in a collaborative team environment
- Ability and availability to work unsociable hours, evenings and weekends as
necessary.
- Proficient in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint ), Google Suite. Experience
with non-linear editing software required. Experience with digital video camera
(professional level) required.
- Passionate about soccer utilizing the sport to lift up the community
- Must be legally authorized or able to obtain authorization to work in the U.S.
Experience:
- At least one year of experience within the sports, broadcasting or media industries
Educational Background Required
- Bachelor's degree in broadcasting, journalism, communications or related field
preferred
- Sports, media and/or entertainment industry experience preferred
