Position Overview

Film and edit moving images on video or other media. Edits or synchronizes soundtracks with images.

Essential Functions

  1. Cut shot sequences to different angles at specific points in scenes, making each cut as fluid and seamless as possible.
  2. Edit digital files using editing equipment to insert music, dialogue, and sound effects, arrange films into sequences, and correct errors.
  3. Select and combine the most effective shots of each scene to form a logical and smoothly running story.
  4. Determine the specific audio and visual effects and music necessary to complete films.
  5. Organize and string together raw footage into a continuous whole according to scripts or the instructions of directors and producers.
  6. Review assembled films or edited files on screens or monitors to determine if corrections are necessary.
  7. Review footage sequence by sequence to become familiar with it before assembling it into a final product.
  8. Record needed sounds or obtain them from sound effects libraries.
  9. Confer with the Graphics manager concerning layout or editing approaches needed to increase productions' dramatic or entertainment value.
  10. Trim film segments to specified lengths and reassemble segments in sequences that present stories with maximum effect.
  11. Set up and operate cameras, lighting, and audio equipment to capture high-quality visuals and sound, computer editing systems, video switching equipment, and digital video effects units to produce a final product.
  12. Write scripts, create storyboards, and plan visual narratives tailored to our audience.
  13. Adapt to challenges during shoots, including tight deadlines, time constraints, or changing requirements.
  14. Present drafts and gather feedback to ensure alignment with our objectives.
  15. Contribute to developing video strategies for multiple platforms, including websites, social media, and internal portals.
Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree in videography, or a related creative/design field, or equivalent professional experience.
High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)

Benefits:

Compensation:
  • $23 - $25/hr (DOE) with a performance review in 6 months and pay increase consideration.

Conditions of Employment:
  • Successful candidates must submit to a post-offer pre-employment background check.
  • Assessment tests, including a job knowledge test.
Hours:

Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, with a 30-minute lunch break.
