OVERVIEW & RESPONSIBILITIES:
CBS News Colorado seeks an energetic and innovative producer who is more than just a show stacker. A successful candidate knows how to let the content dictate the format and understands top story treatment, urgent production style, effective teasing, and the use of live elements. The ideal candidate will oversee the daily production of a newscast and occasionally produce content for our streaming platform. This person will be a creative problem solver, capable of communicating complex stories to our diverse audience. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to writing, producing, and editing content. Must have proven ability to enterprise story ideas and enhance storytelling with a viewer focus. Shift may vary. This position will require you to work closely with our team of anchors, reporters, photographers, and writer-editors to craft engaging news segments. We are looking for someone who will contribute significantly to the station’s goal of growing digital-first content, and staying ahead in the ever-evolving media landscape.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
- 2+ years of experience as a line producer
- Excellent organizational and communication skills are required
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism or related field preferred
- Experience working with video editing systems
- Familiarity with streaming platforms and working with online content management

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $60,000.00 - 65,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
