General Summary The Technical Writer is responsible for working with the Technology Engagement & Development (TED) team to ensure that LAIKA's technical systems, tools, and workflows are consistently and comprehensively documented for the studio's diverse end user groups. This position works directly with the Sr Technology Engagement & Development Manager and the Training & Development Analysts to develop materials for a variety of in-house and 3rd party systems across all departments in the studio.

Job Functions Based on priority needs, create rich, web-based documentation for technology adoption including, but not limited to, application guides, product manuals, and editing screenshots. Work with Training & Development Analysts to document new workflows to help production teams to build expertise in LAIKA's tools. Collaborate with development subject matter experts in the Technology department to create software documentation for undocumented processes. Work with the Sr Technology Engagement & Development Manager to identify gaps in current documentation and refine documentation strategy. Assist in the overall management and organization of the Technology department's technical documentation system. Evaluate existing technical documentation and make enhancements as needed that will be easily interpreted by diverse user groups. Assist in the creation of communications for users about known issues, outages, or process changes. Qualifications

3+ years of proven experience in writing technical documentation, preferably in the field of Software Development, Information Technology, Computer Science, or other related disciplines. Proven ability to understand and explain complex technical concepts in writing. Strong research and analytical skills. Ability to undertake multiple projects and deliver on tight deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience with any tools to produce and catalog documentation (e.g., Articulate, Microsoft Office, Confluence, Camtasia, SnagIt, and programs within the Adobe Suite). Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee works under typical office conditions and is exposed to variable indoor temperatures. The noise level is usually quiet or moderate.

Location On-site in Hillsboro, OR, and also eligible for hybrid and/or remote work.

Salary Salary is commensurate with skills and experience.
