A Day in the Life The Peripheral Vascular Health (PVH) business is one of the fastest growing businesses at Medtronic. We are hiring a Carotid Product Manager within our Global Marketing Team to manage our growing carotid portfolio. The current carotid treatment market is expected to be greater than $500M in the US and $750M globally. Carotid artery disease is caused by the narrowing of the blood vessels in the neck that carry blood from the heart to the brain. Carotid artery stenosis can be caused by plaque build-up in the blood vessels (atherosclerosis) or blood clots that can travel up to the brain leading to a stroke. This is a unique role for someone with strong business acumen and marketing experience. You will be empowered to use your experience and creativity to lead the strategic direction and execution to manage the carotid portfolio globally. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Be the marketing leader for the new carotid product the peripheral vascular team will introduce to the US market. Develop robust marketing plans that articulate and convey the value proposition of the product. Direct, design and implement comprehensive product launch and marketing plans including establishing business plans, competitive strategy, pricing, forecasting, and analysis of distribution and inventory management. Deep understanding and expertise of the carotid disease state, value proposition of the products used to treat, and the competitive landscape. Act as internal therapy expert and leverage knowledge base to support customer meetings, cross-functional decision making, and broad-based peripheral business strategy. Develop KOL relationships, lead customer meetings, and gain physician input that can be used to build advocates, identify needs, and assess opportunities to help drive marketing programs. Provide US demand forecasts and scenarios; provide inventory allocation management for the region. Support the development of programs to educate and train physicians, hospital personnel, and Medtronic staff on technical matters. Support ongoing sales training and new hire training. Successfully execute campaign tactics across multiple channels - sales, digital media, medical conferences, PR, advertising - and track metrics to optimize performance and drive program ROI. Create business dashboards, and monitor metrics required to support sales and supply chain operations and accelerate key portfolio decisions. Present to key members of the leadership team around launch status and opportunities for growth. Understand the competitive market. Compile and provide regular competitive updates to marketing/senior management. Develop and distribute competitive updates and messaging to regional marketing and sales teams. Develop and allocate category budget and make trade-offs to ensure investment in highest impact initiatives. YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
7+ Years of marketing experience with Bachelor’s degree. 5+ Years with Master’s degree. DESIRED SKILLS
Marketing or sales experience within vascular or neurovascular market. Ability to develop, implement, and communicate marketing and commercial strategy across geographies and customer types. Ability to understand anatomy and the treatment of disease states and establish and grow relationships with physician thought leaders. Strong ability to understand and influence the design of new products, processes, standards, or operational plans based on business strategy. High energy level with intellectual inquisitiveness and a desire to create practical and innovative solutions. Must be a self-starter with the ability to take disparate data points and weave clear action plans and strategies. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and have strong organizational skills to work effectively with cross-functional and regional partners. Team-oriented approach and ability to build and maintain strong business relationships across functions. Strong analytical skills including understanding of business economics and financial measures. Expert in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills. PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS Ability to travel up to 40% of the time.
