Position Summary
The Graphic Designer is responsible for creating visually appealing designs that align with Valley Credit Union’s brand and marketing strategies. This position involves collaborating with various departments, producing high-quality marketing materials, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Complete visually appealing design work for logos, promotional items, and specific program offerings.
Design and coordinate art, video and copy layouts for marketing materials, including but not limited to:
Advertisements (print and digital)
Newsletters, brochures, posters, and billboards
Webpage layouts, email graphics, and digital ads
Infographics, sales decks, case studies, and annual reports
TV commercials
Social media content
Operate scanning and digital camera equipment for use in production materials.
Adhere to internal branding guidelines and the content style guide.
Maintain, track, and communicate the status of all creative projects from initial assignments through design, revision, layout, mechanical preparation, and pre-press.
Assist with internal and external production of all marketing materials and promotional items.
Fulfill marketing material orders from branches and the sales team.
Assist with creating and oversee project tasks using the marketing department’s project management tool.
Act as a liaison with marketing vendors to ensure the quality production of materials and finished products.
Ensure all marketing materials meet compliance regulations, including those required for advertisements.
Assist with reviewing and proofing marketing materials for accuracy and completeness.
Collaborate with internal teams, including managers, department leaders, and other staff, to understand project assignments and intended messaging.
Present design concepts and layouts for review and revise projects based on feedback.
Inform staff of upcoming campaigns via intranet notices and email communications.
Support campaign awareness and staff engagement efforts.
Coordinate the publishing of web graphics and webpage layouts.
Assist with the design and build of emails and landing pages within the internal CRM.
Research and present design assets for various layouts and projects.
Help set up, participate in, and take down marketing events at branches and within the community.
Assist with running departmental reports to track marketing performance and promotions.
Prepare print orders and assembly instructions upon final project approval.
Maintain records of billable project time as required.
Perform any additional duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES
Strong graphic design skills with demonstrated creativity and originality in producing engaging visuals.
Familiarity of videography and photography.
Proficiency in design software and tools, including Adobe Creative Suite.
Familiarity with web and digital design practices, including email marketing platforms and web page design.
Knowledge of branding principles and the ability to adhere to established brand guidelines.
Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all aspects of work.
Ability to manage projects independently, meet deadlines, and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Proficiency in basic mathematics and statistical concepts to interpret data and metrics.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse personalities and teams.
Professionalism and a customer-focused attitude with the ability to provide superior service.
Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey ideas clearly and persuasively.

Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and email software, and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Word and Excel.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, Marketing, or a related field; two or more years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Previous financial experience preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and/or stand; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, as necessary.
