Job Description
Summary:
The responsibility of a Marketing Specialist is to plan, develop, oversee, and execute marketing
activities throughout the company as directed and per the organizational objectives. They will
be responsible for all parts of the marketing strategies, building marketing programs, &
managing all marketing campaigns. They will need to create content, provide data that qualifies
activities, & coordinate production with internal team members for their strategies to succeed.
They will also communicate programs and other pertinent information consistently and
professionally through various mediums to internal and external audiences. They will maintain
their department's budget and report on the marketing metrics.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop department strategies that align with the yearly business plans
• Develop and implement an ongoing, 12-month marketing calendar that includes JTeam
promotions, marketing campaigns, and company events
• Create and manage a department budget that can show both overall spending and small
details
• Compile, manage, and organize essential marketing data (customer data, vendor data,
corporate data, etc.)
Job Description:
• Develop and implement strategies to grow our organization and company brand
• Create, Compile, and house both content and graphics for marketing purposes.
• Create metrics for all marketing activities and report on them as required
• Maintain segmented customer business and contact data
• Assist with the analysis of marketing data, including campaign sales results, online
traffic, content usage, etc., and use the information to improve future marketing efforts.
• Maintain and stay current with industry trends, knowledge, and product information
from suppliers, trade publications, distributor partners, competitive distributors, and
the internet.
• Additional assistance may extend to duties above and beyond the Marketing
Department including but not limited to assisting with store events, answering customer
phone calls, helping customers at the counter and other duties as required by day-today business.
• May assist with special duties and assignments as needed.
Requirements:
• Highschool diploma or GED
• 2 years of experience in marketing or similar business fields
• Intermediate to a high level of experience in creating content and graphic design
Preferred:
• Degree in Marketing or related field or 2 years marketing or related business experience
• Knowledge of social media platforms and online marketing tools will help them be more
successful in their work.
• Knowledge of marketing principles and techniques, including customer segmentation,
customer acquisition and retention, and brand building.
• Confidence with design software such as Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, or
equivalent program
• Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Attention to detail
• Intermediate to expert level skills in Excel preferred.
• Problem-solving skills: listening to, interpreting, and meeting the needs of others;
diagnosing and rectifying problems.
• Critical thinking skills: ability to collect data, evaluate results, and draw valid
conclusions.
• Data management skills: ability to identify key data points, clean and organize data for
review, extract actionable insights, and create summaries/presentations based on the
information gleaned.
