The City of Springfield's Department of Public Information & Civic Engagement has an opening for a Multimedia Specialist. We are looking for a graphic designer skilled in creating compelling visuals that help us with educational storytelling. Experience in designing infographics, websites and print publications is required. This position designs educational pieces primarily, but not exclusively, for our nationally accredited Department of Environmental Services. Help us teach the community about the importance of recycling, environmental stewardship and more. Our team includes communications professionals, designers, writers, videographers, photographers and more. This position is ideal for someone looking to build their career and get their hands into a wide variety of multimedia experiences while being afforded a lot of creative freedom and the opportunity to build their path forward.
Experience designing infographics, websites, and multipage print publications is required for this vacancy. Social Media management experience, video editing skills and/or journalism experience is a plus.

Qualifications and Requirements
Experience, Education, and Training
Requires two years of work related experience in communications, journalism, broadcasting, graphics or a related field; OR
An Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university in communications, journalism, broadcasting, graphics or related area of study; Any combination of work related experience and coursework equivalent to the above stated requirements is acceptable.
