Nexstar Media Group in Springfield, MO has an immediate opening for an innovative, highly motivated, and extremely creative individual to join our team and work directly with our three-hour lifestyle show, “Unscripted.”
We are looking for an exceptional videographer/editor who is proficient in all phases of the video production process. The ideal candidate can work well independently or on a team to develop and execute various projects. This person would be relied upon for conceptualizing, setting up and executing shoots and edits for a variety of projects.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the department manager, show producers, and hosts to create fun paid and non-paid content to feature in a creative and dynamic show.
- Work with the Lifestyle team, clients, and sales team members to ensure paid content delivers the necessary message, while remaining entertaining and engaging for our audience.
- Communicate with the Lifestyle team to maintain a clear schedule of shoots, editing timelines, and airdates.
- Plan, set up, and execute both live and recorded shoots with hosts and/or clients.
- Responsible for editing all recorded segments.
- Be able to simultaneously manage multiple projects in different stages of the production process (planning, scheduling, shooting, editing, etc.), and prioritize work to meet all deadlines.
- Propose creative ideas for content with the Lifestyle team, and then bring them to life.
- Must have strong videography skills and non-linear editing skills.
- Solid experience with Camcorder and/or DSLR cameras and Adobe Premiere. Other Adobe experience is a plus.
- Possess excellent communication, presentation, organization, and time management skills.
- Assist with occasional station events, which may include nights and/or weekends.
- Perform other related duties, as assigned.
Other Requirements & Skills:
- Working knowledge of lighting and audio gear.
- Excellent communication/grammar skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work daytime hours regularly and flexible hours (including nights and weekends) occasionally.
- Fluency in English.
- Valid driver’s license.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
The Lifestyle Videographer/Editor must be able to stand, sit, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, conduct face-to-face discussions with individuals or groups, make decisions without supervision, make decisions that impact the results of co-workers, work in close proximity to others, work outdoors in all weather conditions, and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. In addition, the Lifestyle Videographer/Editor must be able to lift, set up, and operate equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, and be able to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Repetitive movements are required. Work may be conducted in extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions.
