Kindergarten Library Media Specialist/Art Teacher
Harrison Kindergarten is accepting applications for a media specialist/art teacher position for the 2025-26 school year. The position will be a full-time (1.0 FTE) library media specialist/art teacher position within Harrison Kindergarten. Duties will focus on Kindergarten library media and art instruction. Applicants must possess appropriate Arkansas DESE certification. Previous experience is preferred, but not required.
Harrison Kindergarten is seeking an individual who will:
- create a media center with resources and a systematically developed collection within and outside of the school conducive to student learning and personal growth
- establish effective rapport with pupils
- motivate students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for their education, in accordance with each pupil’s ability
- formulate positive relationships with parents, students, and other staff members
- use formative and summative assessments with colleagues to improve student learning
- demonstrate effective communication within the school community
- be adept with technology, learning management systems, and digital instruction (Canvas, Google Classroom, etc.) with the ability to provide assistance in the use of technology and the digital/virtual learning environment
- provide assistance and instruction in identifying, locating, and interpreting information housed in and outside the library media center
- provide learning opportunities related to new technologies, use, and production of a variety of media formats
- provide professional development in new and emerging technologies, use of appropriate technologies, incorporation of technology into the instructional program, and in laws and policies pertaining to the use of communication of ideas and information, including copyright law
- perform management duties such as ordering books and materials, processing items of usage, planning finances and accountability, organizing inventory of devices, and implementation of management of 1:1 devices
- cover art standards with engaging, collaborative instruction
- hold Google Level One Certification
