Compensation: $50,000 - $60,000 / year


Description

The Audio/Visual Technician provides comprehensive audiovisual and videoconferencing support for physical, virtual, and hybrid meetings at Federal and private venues across the country, but primarily in the Washington DC Metro Area. This position requires expertise in both traditional AV equipment operation and virtual meeting platforms.


Key Responsibilities

Typical Duties /Responsibilities

· Provides videoconferencing services for various groups, managing all aspects of virtual meeting coordination and technical support.
· Handles the complete lifecycle of videoconferencing events, from receiving initial requests to scheduling with coordinators and working with requesters to understand and fulfill specific meeting requirements.
· Sets up, tests, and operates all necessary equipment and peripherals, providing comprehensive technical support including user training and hands-on control during high-profile meetings.
· Manages equipment maintenance, including proper breakdown and storage between uses, while offering audiovisual assistance as needed.
· Utilizes various computer applications for essential tasks, including email communication, videoconference scheduling, word processing, spreadsheet management, database maintenance, and internet access.
· Maintains professional development through regular attendance at videoconferencing facilitator meetings and annual refresher seminars.
· May take on additional video-related responsibilities such as videotaping, photography, equipment maintenance, database updates, and equipment research as needed.


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Qualifications and Requirements:

· High school degree
· 2+ years of relevant experience in audio/visual technology
· Demonstrated expertise with virtual meeting platforms (WebEx, Zoom, Teams)
· Proficiency with conference room AV equipment and hybrid meeting technology
· Strong understanding of virtual meeting management and best practices
· Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to stand for extended time periods, ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds
