DB Acoustics has been providing these sorts of solutions since 1986. We are a small business headquartered in Marion, Iowa and we are seeking a sales professional to join our team.
Position: Sales Representative
DB Acoustics is seeking a Sales Representative who:
- Is knowledgeable about selling and designing low voltage audio visual systems
- Can effectively perform customer needs assessments, develops sales proposals, estimates, specifications, and presentations
- Is able to nurture, develop and maintain long-term business relationships with a focus on quality, customer retention and satisfaction
- Is able to develop and maintain contacts with architects, consulting engineers, specification writers, building owners, and contractors to promote DB Acoustics as a trusted professional contractor
- Is able to develop and demonstrate a detailed understanding of our products and services
- Has the ability to communicate effectively, deal diplomatically with customers and team members, work independently, prioritize and manage numerous projects, and be innovative and creative
Responsibilities:
- Nurture relationships, analyze needs and sell audio/video and other low voltage systems to commercial, educational and residential customers
- Work with operations, finance, engineering, and other inside and outside resources as needed to obtain the sale
- Follow through on sold projects to ensure satisfactory completion
- Ensure a smooth sales to operations turnover and monitor progress
- Assist in resolving installation, collections, and other customer satisfaction issues as needed
- Travel, as necessary, to cover sales responsibilities in our territory
- Proactive and ongoing prospecting in the territory
- Accountable for maintaining a strong sales pipeline with detailed reporting
- Meet or exceed monthly quota
Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or a similar field preferred
- Two to four years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Requires a willingness and aptitude to learn
- Competently use company estimating tools and demonstrate an understanding of value engineering, related contractual concepts, and financial acumen
- Must have valid driver’s license & maintain for duration of employment
Work Location and Hours
This role requires the employee to be based in our Marion office. The sales person will travel to customer locations across Eastern Iowa to engage with and support customer relationships. This role could be tailored to be either full or part time.
- Full time work hours are 7-4, 8-5, OR 9-6, but some flexibility can be arranged to accommodate work/life balance
- Part time work hours (20-30 hours per week) are an option if that is the preference of the employee. These hours would have to be planned on a consistent schedule during the core 7-6 window

After a 90 day introductory period, full time employees will be eligible for company paid benefits including paid time-off, life insurance, medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug coverage. 401k will be made available after 6 months of employment. Use of company sales vehicle or vehicle allowance.
After a 90 day introductory period, part time employees will be eligible for paid time off on a prorated basis. Remaining benefits could be offered on a cost shared basis.
