Student Worker - Campus Audio Visual Systems

Campus Audio Visual Systems (CAVS) is excited to begin the search for a Student Worker to join the team! Campus Audio Visual Systems is a department within the AU Office of Information Technology. The CAVS Group is involved in design through implementation of all manners of campus audio/visual technology. The focus is on Auburn University classroom teaching technology but often spreads to other various and exciting A/V projects across the AU central campus and beyond.

The ideal student for this position would be able to work 10-20 hours a week with morning or evening availability with at least 4-hour blocks of time between the hours of 8:00AM-6:00PM, examples: MWF 8AM-12PM or T/R 2PM-6PM.

Essential Functions

This student position will involve responsibilities both in the CAVS warehouse and vehicle fleet, as well as on jobsites across campus.


Warehouse Responsibilities:

  • Manage warehouse stock and maintain cleanliness of the warehouse facility.
  • Pull inventory to stage parts for upcoming projects.
  • Empty the CAVS vehicle fleet of removed A/V gear and restock the vehicles with essential parts.

Field Responsibilities:

  • Load and unload A/V gear on jobsites.
  • Keep jobsites clean and organized during work.
  • Assist a CAVS team member with occasional jobsite duties, which may vary.

These duties will provide the student with the opportunity to learn about the inner workings of Auburn University campus technology system design and installation.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled as an Auburn University undergraduate student.

Expectations:

  • Job requires walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling and lifting up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to climb up and down ladders.
  • Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.

Pay Rate: $12.00/hour

Work Hours: 10-20
