Video Editor and Producer Job Summary:
Sparks Group has partnered with a global design and innovation consultancy in Washington, DC to find a Video Editor and Producer. This is a hybrid contract opportunity. As a Video Editor and Producer, you will support and facilitate video creation for field-based and remote video production. Work will include filming, editing, sound mixing, and motion graphic creation for a range of video products related to duties as assigned. Projects include both client and internal work.
Video Editor and Producer Responsibilities:
- Works in collaboration with team members to produce various video products for digital distribution, including micro-documentary and a range of motion graphics animated content.
- Create and combine motion graphics and graphic design to produce compelling and engaging video content to meet client objectives.
- Develop animated case studies, explainer videos, RFPs, product release demos, After Effects character animation, and short social media animated GIFS.
- Plan and perform video post-production tasks which include proper media management of video footage after remote and live shoots, reviewing footage and making editorial decisions, video transcoding, rough-cuts, audio mixing, color correction, motion graphics and lower third titles, video compression for output, and final archive of video projects upon completion.
- Support the planning and filming of live and remote Experience Practice video productions.
- Help set up video cameras, grip and electric, and audio mixers including assorted lavalier and shotgun microphones.
- Film “B-roll” footage and interviews for edited videos.
- Provide limited troubleshooting of video, audio, and lighting equipment.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance.
- Have some knowledge of production design, art direction and talent direction (able to help clients/talent become comfortable on camera).
- Execute pre-production and production planning activities.
- Be on location for filming (either local or out of state).
- Communicate technical information in non-technical terms to clients or colleagues.
- Conduct field-based video production, which may involve interacting with Client Account teams and Clients.
- Operate portable video and audio equipment; transport and set up lighting and audio equipment as required; provide limited troubleshooting and maintenance of field production equipment.
Video Editor and Producer Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in film, telecommunication, or video production.
- Must submit a reel/portfolio or samples of motion graphics and video editing work.
- Must submit a reel/portfolio or examples of video editing work
- Intermediate to advanced experience in motion graphics, video editing, and at least a basic knowledge of professional video production practices.
- Intermediate to expert experience in using Adobe After Effects to create motion graphics videos.
- Intermediate to advanced level of standard software applications proficiency with an understanding of current video/photo formats, codecs, project-based file management, and editing with Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Intermediate experience in visual design or art direction, with experience developing graphics for video in Adobe Illustrator.
- Intermediate experience in art direction to create digital storyboards with Adobe Illustrator.
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of professional video production procedures, practices, techniques, and terminology.
- Basic to intermediate studio video production with multi-camera filming experience.
- Basic to intermediate video lighting and cinematography.
- Basic principles of analog and digital video capture.
- Proper handling and troubleshooting of broadcast-quality video production and post-production equipment.
- Professional and DSLR video production equipment operation, including video cameras, audio recording equipment, video editing file compression, motion graphics title creation, lighting, and post-production equipment.
- Knowledge of proper safety practices related to video production.
