Basic Function:

The Window Film Technician’s (WFT) primary duty is to install and/or remove all types of window film. The WFT is familiar with the process of cutting and installing solar control, safety/security and decorative films. WFT’s can work in a variety of settings such as residential, occupied and unoccupied commercial, and new construction. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed, including but not limited to repairs, warehouse inventory, and administrative tasks.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  1. Install window film or other products as indicated according to company, IWFA and manufacturer standards
  2. Prepare for and load truck for jobs the night before
  3. Check film out and in each day on computer by job
  4. Call your customer to let them know you are enroute
  5. Arrive at job site at least 5-10 minutes early
  6. If running late to appointment, call the customer at least 30 minutes ahead
  7. Thoroughly read file notes for special instructions; walk customer through the order and verify that everything is correct prior to beginning install (Daily Quality Procedures)
  8. Plan film cuts so as to waste as little film as possible
  9. Take utmost pride in providing the cleanest, most efficient installation possible
  10. Explain film care instructions and obtain signature on all required forms
  11. Call the office with any questions; and when leaving one job and going to the next
  12. Complete paperwork for customers; acquire necessary signatures; collect payment; submit to office promptly each day
  13. ALWAYS portray company in a positive manner to customer and co-workers
  14. Maintain professional and polite communication and relationship with the customer
  15. Maintain accurate daily inventory of film and supplies
  16. Participate in company formal inventory processes
  17. Maintain the company van supplies, cleanliness, and maintenance.
  18. Clean out vehicle at end of each day
  19. Monthly vehicle maintenance
  20. Wash and vacuum vehicle the 1st of each month
  21. Oil changes every 5,000 miles; rotating tires every 5,000 miles; notify office immediately of any noise, or possible vehicle issue
  22. Maintain a clean and efficient shop and warehouse area
  23. Recycle when possible and place in recycle dumpster behind office (endcaps, boxes, film cores, paper, plastic and glass)
  24. During slow periods when requested: distributing flyers, office maintenance, sales estimates, or other duties as assigned
  25. Monitor and communicate with office on product, department supplies, and office supplies needed; need one-week advanced notice to be sure products are delivered
  26. Complete pay sheets daily and send to Operations Manager
  27. Document any personnel incidents and discuss with HR
  28. Assist with Special Projects as required

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Strong verbal and written communication skills
  2. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills required
  3. Ability to multitask, work under pressure and meet deadlines required.
  4. This position requires the ability to lift 70-150 pounds, and be able to bend, stretch, and climb ladders without back restrictions.
  5. Valid U.S. driver’s license
  6. Clean driving record
  7. No criminal record
  8. Willingness to train inexperienced employees
  9. 4 years or more in flat glass window film installation
