THE POSITION
The Graphics Technician operates all equipment in the department including electronic engraving, proofing, polish master, grinder, and plating equipment. The position requires high attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Details
Major Responsibilities :
- Analyze work orders, job specifications and details, blueprints, etc.
- Lift and safely position workpieces with hoists and forklift.
- Set up and adjust machine controls according to specification to produce quality parts.
- Observe machine operations to detect any problems, making necessary adjustments.
- Participates in continuous improvement initiatives and Gemba’s.
- Comply with safety training, disciplines, and initiatives; utilize proper PPE.
- Understands dimensions and tolerances to make quality parts.
- Analyze and maintain process data to ensure 1st pass yield requirements are met.
- Walking and/or standing 100% of time.
- Participates in housekeeping to ensure clean, safe work area and department.
Knowledge and Skills:
- High degree of accuracy, job knowledge and attention to detail
- Ability to listen to and understand information, as well as comprehension of written communication, job details, drawings, blueprints, and instructions.
- Operational knowledge of electronic equipment
- Good mechanical and electrical aptitude.
- Controlling mechanisms or applying direct physical activity in machine operation
- Ability to identify differences, issues or detect changes in operational performance.
- Ability to develop constructive, cooperative working relationships with others.
- Experience with shop math, reading blueprints and instruments such as micrometers.
- Ability to see details at close range.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Safe, effective use of personal protective equipment and compliance with proper work practices
- Ability to walk and/or stand for lengthy periods.
Educational Requirements/Experience:
- High School Graduate or equivalent; Technical training, and prior work in manufacturing environment a plus.
- Detail attentive with abilities to effectively learn and/or operate electronic equipment with controlled precision, attaining optimal performance and quality results.
- Mechanical aptitude, practical use of tools and equipment, PPE, and compliance with safety initiatives.
