Adult Services Librarian or Librarian Assistant Part-Time

North Suburban Library District (NSLD) Adult Services is seeking a part-time (12-15 hr/wk) Adult Services Librarian or Adult Services Librarian Assistant to work as a team member at our Reference Services desk. NSLD is a public library with two locations: NSLD/Loves Park and NSLD/Roscoe. We serve a population of 69,307 and our district is comprised of the following communities: Machesney Park, Loves Park, Roscoe, and some Boone County and Rockford residents.

Our service desks are busy, and we take pride in our deep materials collection, reliable computers and printers, offsite big venue programs, and going the "extra mile" for our patrons. Many generations of families have called our library their second home.

Responsibilities

1. Staffing the Adult Services desk to help all levels of library users find materials and information.
2. Substituting as needed.
3. Assisting with public computer use (mobile printing, eBooks, email, scanning, MS Office, and social media).

Qualifications

1. MLS degree preferred.
2. One year of public library work experience preferred.
3. Working at both library locations (NSLD/Loves Park and NSLD/Roscoe) is required.
4. Working one evening per week and 2 Saturdays per month required.
5. Strong customer service, communication, organizational, and technology skills are a must.
6. Ability to consistently work scheduled hours is required.
7. Must have own means of transportation.

Salary: $16-$23.00 per hour dependent on experience and qualifications.
