This is a continuous recruitment to fill part-time, and temporary faculty assignments on an as-needed basis. When the need to fill arises, the department will refer to this pool of part-time faculty.

Job Description: Schedules will be arranged according to the Library’s needs and individual availability with no guaranteed number of assigned hours. Preference will be given to applicants with flexible schedules. Schedules may include days and/or evenings.

Special Requirements

The award of all degrees must be verifiable on a legible transcript. If degree award date is not posted on transcript your application will be deemed incomplete and removed from consideration. Grade cards will not be accepted in lieu of transcripts. All degrees and course work used to satisfy the required minimum qualifications must be submitted and from accredited postsecondary institutions.

Master’s in library science, library and information science OR the equivalent. Equivalent qualifications may include related education, training, employment and professional experience that would be equal to the required degree(s) and experience in this field as determined by the District Equivalency Committee.

Must have MLIS before hiring date.

Desirable Qualifications

Recent work experience or internship in a college or public library in reference and library instruction. Demonstrated success in helping students from historically underrepresented and/or marginalized groups, nontraditional students, speakers of other languages, and students with learning disabilities.
