HOURS: Full-time (38 hours per week), non-exempt. Schedule is as follows:
• Monday: 11 am - 8 pm
• Tuesday: 11:30 am - 8 pm
• Wednesday: 11:30 am - 8 pm
• Thursday: 9:30 am - 6 pm
• Friday: 9:30 am - 6 pm
• Saturday: Rotation every third Saturday from 10 am - 4 pm (off the Friday before working Saturday)

DESCRIPTION: The Douglass Branch Library is looking for a friendly and welcoming Library Assistant to join our team! You’ll help create a warm atmosphere by assisting customers with borrowing materials, registering for library cards, answering questions, and using our technology and new makerspace equipment. You’ll also assist with and help present engaging programs for adults and children. As a Library Assistant, you’ll provide excellent customer service and help create a positive work environment. We’re seeking someone with a strong commitment to public service, great interpersonal skills, and a friendly demeanor. If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you!

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Associate or two years of college preferred
• Clerical or public library experience preferred
• Experience with children in an educational or recreational setting preferred
• Knowledge of Spanish and/or French is helpful

$39,428 – $50,326 annually
