Job Posting – 2024-2025 Sub Position, Library Aide

Library Aide - 6.5 hours per day (7 hrs. minus ½ hour unpaid lunch) - 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., 183 days
Wage Range - $13.75

Promote creative use of the Library to enhance staff and student access. Maintain an orderly and functional circulation system. Provide guidance, training, and support to help students and staff find and use appropriate materials. Maintain an environment that stimulates interest, enthusiasm, and inquisitiveness about subjects and events. Actively involve colleagues as partners.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Evidence of a clear record as determined by the Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation (BCII) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
• Ability to type 30+ words per minute.
• Experience with library procedures and equipment.
• Evidence of experience using computer and technology equipment.
• Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office Excel / Word, and Google Gmail, Docs and Sheets.
• Evidence of an interest in reading and education.
• Evidence of successful experience working with school-age children.
• Ability to achieve proficiency using the Dewey Decimal System.

• Occasional exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissue.
• Frequent interaction with disruptive or unruly children.
• Frequent exposure to student commotion.
• Work cooperatively with others.
