Spanish Language and Literature Teacher - Future Opening 2025-2026

The Awty International School seeks a full-time Spanish Language and Literature Teacher, beginning the 2025-2026 school year. The assignment is to teach “Language and Literature” as well as “Language Acquisition” courses in the Spanish Department in Middle School and High School. The school is looking for an energetic, creative person who interacts with students and colleagues in a professional manner and is eager to become part of our Secondary Faculty team. The position involves teaching full time, plus other assigned duties. The ideal candidate should demonstrate experience with curriculum development, adaptation of units to meet standards, and a commitment to teaching in a diverse, multicultural environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA or equivalent in Spanish Literature, Spanish Language, or education.
  • Heritage proficiency in Spanish.
  • Experience teaching Spanish in a Secondary School setting.
  • Experience with curriculum development.
  • 2 years of teaching experience in Middle/Upper School.
  • 5 years of teaching experience.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Advanced degree in Spanish Literature.
  • 5 years of full-time teaching experience in MYP and/or DP Spanish Language and Literature.
  • Teaching certification or equivalent credential.
  • Experience as an examiner, presenter, and/or workshop leader.
  • Experience organizing and leading experiential education.
